Following the success of 2004’s “The Roar” fuzz, HAO Handbuilt Effects have developed and released their 2nd limited edition pedal – the Rust Booster II. Designed in conjunction with HAO’s growing artist roster, the RB-2 is a very different animal from the company’s standard production Rust Booster. Featuring a more detailed distortion effect with an increased operating range and a warmer, fatter tone, the RB-2 is perfect for use with single-coil guitars to thicken up their sound. Humbuckers will also benefit from the RB-2’s healthy amount of gain, which mimics the tone of a cranked Fender Blackface Twin with stunning accuracy. With it’s two simple yet versatile controls, a wide variety of saturation effects can be achieved, from clean boost to singing, tube-like overdrive.

The Rust Driver was designed to recreate the classic sound of a late 60’s Marshall Plexi running at full bore grind. Its carefully selected components allow the Rust Driver to faithfully perform this function with any amplifier, at any volume level. The result is a commanding guitar tone with a tight, thick bottom and extremely low signal to noise ratio. A single knob controls output level and gain while three switchable EQ curves offer plentiful tonal options without compromising your guitar sound. When you need that “Plexi Sound” regardless of the playing situation, the Rust Driver is an affordable, reliable, portable alternative to the real thing.

Hao’s ultimate overdrive unit, the Rumble MOD uses hand-selected components to provide the purest, smoothest, thickest overdrive ever. The problem with most OD’s lies in mismatched input/output impedances that can make components work overtime. The Rumble’s input and output buffers provide proper impedance matching, allowing its circuitry to focus purely on generating the fattest overdrive possible. The Rumble’s two modes of operation – Clean Boost in Mode #1 and Overdrive in Mode #2 – allow for a variety of applications and tonal options. If you’ve been searching for that $10K amp sound but are several $K short of the mark, the Rumble MOD is the economical answer to your tone quest.

The Rust Ride was designed to provide the Bassist with a functional, professional-quality overdrive without compromising note clarity or low-end response. The Rust Ride’s components were painstakingly selected in order to maintain the original Bass tone and note attack/release dynamics that are typically lost with other OD units. Its preset EQ offers three different frequency curves without altering the overall frequency operation range, providing voicing options that can’t be achieved w/a normal tone control. Passive and Active inputs allow the Rust Ride to operate with any type of Bass while individual Dry and Effect outputs offer routing of clean Bass tone to a tuner, P.A. system, or a second amplifier.

Like the Rust Driver, the Sole Pressure was designed to recreate the classic sounds of one of the most desirable guitar amps in history – in this case, the legendary ’59 Tweed Bassman 4x10 combo. The Sole Pressure’s carefully selected components allow the user to dial in the smooth, creamy overdrive of this classic amp, right down to the characteristic low-end sag unique to the combo version. Dual knobs control Output and Drive levels while three switchable EQ curves offer plentiful tonal options without compromising your guitar sound. This dual control configuration also allows to the Sole Pressure to act as a semi-clean booster to coax more character out of your amp. If you’re looking for the classic Fender amp tone that defined a generation, the Sole Pressure will let you achieve it with any guitar and amp in any playing situation, without the hassles of owning vintage gear.
