AF-9 Auto Filter

The AF-9 Auto Filter represents the state-of-the art in analog filtering. Like the original Mutron III, the AF-9 uses a CdS Photocoupler (HTV #P873) rather than a VCA at the heart of its circuit. The unique sound of Photocoupler circuitry provides a liquid, shimmering, vowel-like filtering that cannot be produced with other components, giving the AF-9 superior sound quality with lower noise levels than the competition.

From simple wah-wah's to outer-space noises, the AF-9 provides the most desirable swept filter effects in a compact, user-friendly package.

CP-9 Pro+ Compressor

With the CP-9 Pro+, Maxon has taken one of the most lauded compression circuits of all time and placed it in one amazing little stompbox, creating the most “effective” compressor yet!

The CP-9 Pro+ circuit is based around the patented low-noise DBX compression technology that is used in many high-end pro audio products. This circuit combines a high-quality VCA (voltage controlled amplifier) with an RMS (root mean square) sensor, providing a natural attack response while maintaining an extremely low noise floor generally not found in floor-based units.

Simply put, the CP-9 Pro+ is the last compressor you'll ever need to buy!

OD-9 Overdrive

The Maxon OD-9 may look just like your old favorite, but that's where the similarities end. With improved circuitry, the OD-9 stands at the forefront of the Nine Series effects evolution.

Like the OD808, the OD-9 provides the natural, mild overdrive of a tube amp without sacrificing the guitar's original tone. It can also be used as a clean booster to provide increased gain from an amplifier.

OD-9 Pro+ Overdrive

It’s with great pride that Maxon introduces the OD-9 Pro+ Overdrive. At long last, an overdrive unit that meets and exceeds the demands of the market and deservedly takes its place beside the legendary 808. While developing the OD-9 Pro+, Maxon enlisted the help of several professional guitarists, including Scott Henderson, Lyle Workman (Sting), Borislav Mitic, Chris Traynor (Helmet, Bush), Phil Caivanno (Monster Magnet, Jackalope), and Joel Stroezel and Adam Dutkeiwicz (Killswitch Engage). All avid OD808 or OD-9 users, this “advisory board” offered us further insight into what features would be most useful in creating a new classic overdrive pedal.

OOD-9 Organic Overdrive

The new Maxon OOD-9 Organic Overdrive is based around the same re-vamped OD880 circuit as the OSD-9 Overdrive/Soft Distortion. Yet instead of employing the original 741 Op-Amp, the OOD-9 is loaded with a current production JRC 4558 dual Op-Amp instead.

Use the OOD-9 with a clean amp to create a virtual overdriven channel, or use it with an already distorted amplifier for more power and sustain. Better yet, use it combination with the OSD-9 for the fattest, smoothest overdrive ever! Whatever the application, the OOD-9 is the natural choice for the most tube-like overdrive yet!

CS-550 Stereo Chorus

The CS-550 Stereo Chorus was originally commissioned by legendary Japanese Rock guitarist Hisato "Char" Takenaka. After 25 years of playing Char still hadn't found a chorus unit that satisfied his critical tastes, so he approached Maxon to build him one. Char had requested three specific points be addressed when designing this unit first that it should have less noise than a standard chorus; second that it should be extremely versatile; and lastly, that it had to be analog. The results of this experiment were so overwhelmingly positive that Maxon decided to market the unit, and thus the CS-550 Stereo Chorus was born.

DS-830 Distortion Master

After decades of research, Maxon has created the ultimate distortion pedal. The DS-830 Distortion Master was designed to act as a versatile distortion unit with high sound pressure and powerful low range at any volume level. With the DS-830, even the smallest transistor amplifier can have the presence and authority of a full stack, and it will turn a full stack into a wrecking ball.

OD-820 Overdrive Pro

While many consider the OD808 to be the greatest overdrive ever created, Maxon is not a company to rest on its laurels. Instead of basking in the glowing praise, Maxon has focused on the user's feedback to come up with an all-new overdrive circuit that addresses the key shortcomings of other units - the result is the OD-820 Overdrive Pro.

PH-350 Rotary Phaser

Like all the Maxon Vintage Series models, the PH-350 Rotary Phaser was designed to offer an extremely versatile effect unit that provides consistent, low-noise, transparent operation. The PH-350's features were selected after careful study of other phasing units in order to provide as varied and useful a tone palette as possible. Likewise, certain functions and features were disregarded in order to keep performance intuitive and trouble-free.

D&S II Distortion/Sustainer II

Originally released in 1974, the D&S II Distortion & Sustainer II is a precursor to the amp-overdrive simulators of later years. With its mild drive, relaxed sustain and high output, the D&S II sits the fence between an overdrive and a distortion. This unique "split personality" makes the D&S II perfect for players that seek a natural-feeling drive sound but with more drive and output than an OD generally provides.

PT999 Phase Tone

With its single knob and switch, the PT999 Phase Tone is deceptively simple. Yet packed into this tiny blue box are a host of the most authentic 70's era phasing effects available in a current production unit. Simply by adjusting the unit's Rate control a wide variety of expressive phasing nuances can be coaxed from the PT999, all of them whisper quiet and amazingly transparent. The PT999's minimalist circuit frees your guitar tone to be as smooth and responsive as it is when served up a la carte (or a la effect, as the case may be).

CP101 Compressor

The CP101 Compressor provides clean, smooth compression with ultra-low noise and incredible transparency. The CP101's 4:1 compression ratio is so subtle that it's easy to forget the unit is on until you turn it off, that is. While it is on you will notice note-to-note levels that are smoother and more consistent, chords and arpeggios that are tighter and more focused, and when used with an overdriven amp, sustain that will last for days. Best of all, you'll notice minimal coloration to your guitar signal and less of the note-attack alterations so common to other compressors.

D&S Distortion/Sustainer

Before there were ICs and digital modelers there were transistors, and many of the most famous guitar distortions of all time got their signature sounds from these simple little electronic components. Among them is the Maxon D&S, which originally debuted in 1974 as a high-gain, hot distortion with amazingly long sustain.

For high-gain distortion tone with long sustain and excellent note clarity, the D&S Distortion & Sustainer ranks among the classics.

OD808 Overdrive

Originally released in 1979, the OD808 was one of the first tube-amp overdrive simulators to hit the market. Its smooth, creamy crunch tone caught on quickly, and helped to launch a long line of predecessors as well as imitators. Today, the OD808 design is without a doubt the most used, most imitated and most lauded overdrive circuit of all time. The reason for this is simple tone. Simply put, the OD808 provides the natural, mild overdrive of a tube amp without sacrificing your guitar's original tone. In addition, it can be used as a clean booster to provide increased gain without compromising the sound of your amplifier.
